ISLAMABAD: Government has started working on plan B after the strong opposition from partners of ruling coalition and opposition parties on the matter of imposition of RGST.
Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) will issue notification to restrict tax exemption.
According to FBR sources proposal is under consideration to present alternative program in place of RGST within a few days after Suleman Siddique assumes charge as new chairman of FBR today.
Government is also considering to defer RGST and present it during the next budget for the financial year 2011-12.
It may be recalled government had assured IMF to get approve RGST from parliament for obtaining 6th tranche under 11.30 billion dollars stand by program .
