KARACHI: Unknown car riders abducted a home-bound girl, forced her to an isolated spot, gang raped her and left her stranded at the beach.
In her initial statement the hapless victim reported that she was returning home after attending a birthday party, when a white colored car hit her. When she stopped to enquire about the accident she was abducted by four persons, who gang raped her and afterwards left her stranded by sea view area of Clifton.
The victim was subjected to a clinical examination at Civil hospital by lady police surgeon, while her parents refused any media coverage/statements.
Initially the police strongly resisted any attempts to confirm the presence of a regular gang indulging in abductions and sexual assaults, while the Governor Sindh Ishrat-al-Abad has taken strong notice of the issue and ordered an immediate enquiry into the matter.
Meanwhile the TPO, Clifton has altogether a different version, claiming that the girl was not kidnapped but was already a friend of the abductors. Police sources informed that two girls came to have the case registered, which included 18-year Kiron d/o Abdullah of Defence area, and 19-year-old Sonia of North Nazimabad.
The Governor, Sindh, Ishrat-al-Abad has ordered a strict enquiry into the issue of growing number of criminal activities in Defence and Clifton areas of Karachi, and ensure prompt arrest and punishment of those involved.
