ISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly (NA) Dr. Fehmida Mirza has assumed the charge of care taker President of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

As per the article 49 (2) of constitution, in the absence of both the President Asif Ali Zardari, as well as Chairman Senate Farooq H. Naik, Dr. Fehmida Mirza will work as the head of state till the President or Chairman Senate return from their official visits.
