British parliament approves raise in tuition fees

LONDON: The Lower House of British Parliament has approved the raise in the annual fees of students up to 9, 000 Pounds here on Thursday.

As per details, the government won the voting in the lower house with a reduced majority of 21 votes. Some 323 votes were cast in the favour of the government while 302 votes against the raise. With the addition of fees, the annual tuition fees reaches to 14, 100 pounds.

On the other hand, the protest outside the British parliament turned violent after the passing of bill and started scuffling against the police and law enforcement agencies.
