Youm-e-Ashur to be observed on December 17

ISLAMABAD: The moon for the month of Muhrram was not sighted on Monday thus first of Muharram would be on Wednesday December 08 while the Youm-e-Ashur would be observed on December 17th.

A meeting under the chair of Chairman Ruet-e-Halal Committee, Mufti Munib-u-Rehman was held here on Monday at Gulistan-e-Johar, which was attended by representatives of Metrological Department, SUPARCO and renowned religious scholars of different school of thoughts.

Addressing the press conference, Mufti Munib said that the moon was not sighted in any part of the country so first of Muharram would be on December 08, Wednesday.
