ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani on Friday met President Asif Ali Zardari in which host of issues of bilateral interest including operational preparedness of Armed Forces, preparations and training was discussed in depth.
According to sources, meeting between the two threw light on the recent Wikileaks disclosures terming them baseless and fabricated besides impact on Pakistan and situation arising after it.
Both the high ups assured that military and political leadership would never allow handful of elements to destabilize Pakistan hence presenting a clear-cut stance in this regard.
They condemned Wikileaks disclosures in strongest words.
Sources say that President told Army Chief that Pakistan following Wikileaks disclosures have presented their stance to US in unambiguous manner adding we did not get any positive response regarding the authenticity of Wikileaks disclosures from them.
Sources added that meeting lasted for some thirty minutes while Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Heads of the three Armed Forces met separately with Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani prior to the start of defence Committee of the Cabinet in which matters of mutual interest was discussed.
