WASHINGTON: President Obama gets 12 stitches after being elbowed in lip while playing basketball with his friends and family,White House says.

White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs told that he was hit by the elbow of opposing player during the play.

He said that the medical procedure was administered by the White House Medical Unit and has now been done.
