SRINAGAR: In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front-R, Farooq Ahmad Dar has said that durable peace in South Asia is impossible without an amicable resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Farooq Ahmad Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar urged the US to take serious and practical steps to help in resolving the dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
“Whenever the international community mounted pressure on India for resolution of the dispute, the New Delhi always averted pressure on different pretexts and as a result, the dispute is still lingering,” he added.
The JKLF-R leader also welcomed the statement of the US assistant foreign secretary, Philip J. Crowley in Washington in which he had stressed the importance of Kashmir solution.
Condemning the worst kind of human rights violations in the occupied territory by the Indian troops, Farooq Ahmed Dar said that such tactics could not prevent the people of Kashmir from continuing their struggle for right to self-determination. He said that liberation struggle would be taken to its logical conclusion, despite all odds.
