JUI-F to support RGST only if its not burden on masses, says Maulana Fazl

LAHORE: JUI chief Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has said that he will support Reformed General Sales Tax if it’s not burdening the nation.

JUI leader Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman talking to the media after condoling the death of PML-Q leader Mushahid Hussain Syed’s mother, said that military operation is not in Pakistan’s favour, he elaborated that America can never be successful in this region and Pakistani military operation can not achieve positive outcome unless a policy is formulated according to the resolution of the parliament .

Maulana said when asked about the RGST that “I am in the process of dialogue with the government on the tax issue, if the government had taken us into confidence on this issue before, a lot of hue and cry could be avoided but never the less we will see if there is no burden on the people he will support the implementation of RGST.”

Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman said that the military operation within the country is very unfortunate villages after villages are being destroyed and none of the political party is saying anything instead they are appreciating the army for doing the operation . The government should be realistic towards these military operations and accept that it will not prove positive for the country.

JUI leader said that it is the prime responsibility of the government to provide peace and security to the people. Talking to the media he said that American should not enter in this region after what they did in Iraq and Afghanistan , it should be considered as violation if military operation is done in this region.

He said that “I have always been promoting peace and has been showing the true face of Umat-e-Muslima but if the government or the army wants to commit sin I will not be a part of it”.
