LONDON: The Kashmir Centre London will organise a function to commemorate the Jammu Martyrs Day on November 6. More than 200,000 people were killed in cold blood on the day in 1947.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the day is being observed to reiterate the commitment that the struggle for liberation of occupied Kashmir will continue till Kashmiris are granted their birthright to self-determination.
The Jammu Martyrs Day (November 6) is observed in different cities of the United Kingdom. On the day seminars and meetings are held to pay homage to the martyrs for their supreme sacrifice.
The Kashmir Centre London will hold a programme in Slough, London, where parliamentarians, mayors, councillors and community leaders will participate in the function.
Meanwhile, Vice President of All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference Jamil A Tabassum called on Executive Director of Kashmir Centre London, Professor Nazir Ahmad Shawl. The two leaders, while discussing the latest situation in occupied Kashmir, expressed concern over the deteriorating human rights situation in the territory.
They decided to apprise the UK parliamentarians of the grave situation of occupied Kashmir.
