Flights for Kabul from Peshawar to be introduced

PESHAWAR: International flights for Afghanistan, from Peshawar Airport are on the anvil, and security clearance for the purpose has also been given.

Two flights of PIA for the Afghan capitol Kabul are already operational, while flights from Peshawar have been scheduled, which would also be gradually increased.

Meanwhile flights are being introduced from Islamabad to Peshawar to Kabul and Kabul to Peshawar to Islamabad. Currently, all diplomats, traders and other persons from different walks of life travel to/from Kabul via Islamabad gateway. Security clearance teams had been arranged for evaluating the situation, which have given an affirmative report, and journeys to/from Kabul to Peshawar are expected to be introduced after Hajj operations.

The decision to start the new flights has been taken in view of the improving law and order situation in the Khyberpakhtoonkhwa Province. Traders, diplomats, and persons from other walks of life had requested government to help alleviate this problem.
