Musharraf liable to death: Ulema-o-Mashaikh

QUETTA: Ulema-o-Mashaikh (Religious Scholars) and political leaders have declared the former president Pervez Musharraf is liable to death penalty due to his involvement in Lal Masjid operation, killings of thousands people including Nawab Akbar Bugti and for violating the constitution.

As per details, a meeting of religious scholars and political leaders headed by Chief of Jamhori Watan Party Nawabzada Talal Bugti was held here on Saturday. Several scholars and politicians including provincial Ameer of JI Abdul Mateen Akhwanzada, JUI-N leader Maulana Abdul Qadir Loni, Maulana Noor Muhammad of JUI, Abdul Quddus Sasoli, Hashim Moosavi, Wilayat Hussain Jaffery and other leaders also attended the sitting.

After the meeting a joint statement was issued, which declared the former president, Pervez Musharraf as liable to death due to his involvement in the killing of hundreds of innocent girls in Lal Masjid operation and in violation of the constitution. It said that he as a dictator also changed Hudud Ordinance and destroyed several mosques across the country. The former president was also involved in the killing of many people including Akbar Bugti, Balach Mari. Thus he is behind many crimes according to law, religion and culture he should be sentenced to death.

At the occasion, Nawabzada Talal Bugti announced $1.3 million as head money for Pervez Musharraf saying that it is binding on all Muslims under the statement of religious scholars to behead him as soon as possible. He said that he would approach the court in this regard.
