No harm to be allowed to be caused to motherland: Army chief

RAWALPINDI: Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has reiterated the resolve that every jawan and Sepoy of Pakistan army will not allow any harm to be caused to the country.

Army chief expressed these views while addressing 4th annual conference of Subedar majors here Wednesday. Conference was held at General Headquarters (GHQ). Subedar Majors of all the army formations attended the conference.

According to military sources, army chief commended the services rendered by officers and Jawans of Pakistan army during the relief activities for their flood-affected brethren. The whole nation was proud of them and army would continue to play their role in rehabilitation process of flood victims, he underscored.

Army chief held Pakistan army was one among the best armies over the world and its every soldier was infused with the spirit of patriotism. The policy for enhancement of professional capabilities would continue to be pursued, he underlined. Work on the uplift projects for armed forces would continue despite financial hardships, he added.

He held out assurance to Subedar Majors that problems being faced by them would be addressed at priority level. Utmost care is being provided to the families of soldiers martyred in war on terror, he added.
