Justice (retd) Dedar Hussain Shah appointed new Chairman NAB

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has appointed Justice (retd) Dedar Hussain Shah as Chairman National Accountability Bureau despite PML-N objection.
According to Law Ministry sources, after consultation with Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani approval has been accorded for appointing Justice (retd) Dedar Hussain Shah as NAB chairman despite the fact that PML-N had objected over his appointment and had suggested that Justice (retd) Sardar Raza Mohammad Khan should be appointed NAB chairman. However the senior government officials could not agree on this and summary of Justice (retd) Dedar Hussain Shah was resent to PM who accorded approval after taking President Asif Ali Zardari into confidence.
Justice (retd) Dedar Hussain Shah belongs to PPP and had been elected twice as MP from PPP seat and is also a retired judge of the Supreme Court. He belongs from Sindh and has cordial ties with senior PPP leadership.
Sources told that Justice (retd) Dedar Hussain Shah would assume his charge in a day or two.
SC had given one month time to government to appoint NAB chairman however on Sept 30 the government had sought an extension of 10 days and had to appointment new Chairman NAB by October 9.
