Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies have reached the spot soon after the blast while police and rangers have cordoned off the area. An emergency has been imposed in the city’s major hospitals. After the blast the security of Bilawal House has been beefed up as it is situated is near the shrine.
It is pertinent to mention here that thousands of people visit the shrine on Thursday night.
Rescue sources have confirmed that twelve people have been martyred. Police have found the heads of the accused suicide bomber.
The rescue and hospital sources told Online that the inured include minors and women as well, while the death toll could rise as several injured are in critical condition.
Police sources said that first blast took place at the walk-through gate and the second blast occurred within the next few minutes outside the office of the Manager Auqaf in the shrine premises.
Sindh Home Minister Dr. Zulfiqar Mirza has confirmed blasts as suicidal. He visited the shrine with other high officials and gathered information.
More than 50 injured including women and children have been taken to Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Centre.
Home Minister Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza said that fool proof security was provided at Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s shrine. He said that he wanted closure of all shrines at least for a year adding that the terrorists want to destabilize the country.
The sources said that security has been beefed up across the city, especially at shrines situated in different areas. All shrines in the city have been closed upon the orders of Sindh’s Home Minister
