Former president Pervez Musharraf be better left to his own devices: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said former president Pervez Musharraf be left to his own devices.

PM said this while addressing National Assembly (NA) session here Wednesday.

“I had told opposition leader in separation that Musharraf be better left to his own devices” he underlined.

He also assured the house that disbursement of money among the flood affectees will be ensured for reconstruction of their homes.

The steps taken by the government for development of Balochistan are unprecedented, he held. Chief Minister Balochistan wants a meeting of ECNEC for uplift of Balochistan. However government finance team had gone abroad and when it would return home, a meeting would be held in collaboration with chief minister Balochistan with regard to development of Balochistan, he told.

He went on to say that government was not cutting short the shares of provinces while national resources were going to Balochistan following the passage of 18th amendment.

PM minister said he had met both the prime minister and president of AJK and discussed with them the matters related to reconstruction of quake hit areas. Government would ensure completion of development projects in affected areas, he announced.

Government has changed the priorities of budget due to floods in the country, he said adding “we will not look forward to the foreign assistance in this respect. Government had decided to provide assistance to over 20 million flood victims out of its own budget and first phase of provision of aid amounting to Rs 20000 has been started. Rs 350 billion will be provided to the flood affectees, he told.
