LAHORE: A press release issued by the Jamia Naeemia has said that famous Aalim and Islamic scholar Mufti Alama Muhammad Imran Hanfi Qadri has made it clear that saying the word “hello” is not prohibited by Islamic point of view.

He said that a fatwa has been issued by the Jamia Naeemia in which it has been mentioned that it is ok to use hello in a conversation.

He said that the proof to use this word is also been mentioned in famous Islamic books, one of that book is written by Bashir A-Qureshi, in which he has said that the word Hello, Hallo, Halloa mean “cry to call attention” which means to get anyone’s attention.

He said that those who believe that the word hello means hell are wrong and their fatwa is not correct in terms of research.

“The word hell has no link with hello, and by saying that this word came from west is also not right because the people of west also believe in Hell and Heaven so how could they use the word hello if it stands for hell” he clarifies.

Though he said that one should must Salam before starting a conversation and then it is ok to say Hello.

He said that the fatwa to use the word hello has also been approved by several other Islamic scholars of Pakistan.
