ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan on Monday appointed Air Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt as Vice Chief of the Air Staff,Pakistan Air Force.
According to PAF Press Release, Air Marshal Tahir Rafique Butt was commissioned in General Duties (Pilot) Branch of PAF on 06 March, 1977. He served as a fighter pilot in varioussquadrons of Pakistan Air Force, and has also qualified Flying Instructors’,Combat Commanders’, Armed Forces War and Turkish War Courses.
During his career he has commanded a fighter squadron, a fighter wing, an operationalPAF Base and a Regional Air Command. In his last assignment, he was serving as Deputy Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel), at Air Headquarters, Islamabad.
He is recipient of Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military), Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and Tamgha-i-Basalat.
