MARDAN: Religious scholar and Vice Chancellor Swat university Doctor Farooq Khan has died in firing by unidentified armed persons along with his driver in Mardan here on Saturday.

According to the media report Doctor Farooq Khan was in his clinic when two unidentified armed persons entered in the clinic. They held hostage the patients and then entered in the Doctor’s room and opened firing killing Doctor Farooq and his driver.

It was told that Doctor Farooq Khan worked for the army to bring the terrorists on right track, Religious scholar wrote more than 12 books and remained attached with different television channels and wrote editorial in news papers. He was much concerned about terrorism in the country and raised voice at every platform against this menace.
