SC orders leveling of Zulfiqarabad oil tankers terminal area

KARACHI: Three member bench of Supreme Court has ordered district government Karachi to level the Zulfiqar abad oil tankers terminal area with in ten days for parking oil tankers.
As per details, the court made it clear on Manzoor Ahmad, lawyer to district government that if the orders would not be implemented then concerned officials would be send to jail.
It is pertinent to mention here that case of illegal parking of oil tankers at Sheereen Jinnah colony and Clifton block has been delayed since April and could not be progressed despite Supreme Court’s orders.
The court ordered to level the area with in ten days and submit the report in Supreme Court while in case of non-implementation on the orders administrator Karachi would be presented before the court.
The bench headed by Justice Jawad S Khawaja ordered Sindh government to hand over 50 acre land to city government to park oil tankers coming from Balochistan, so that the land could be leveled. The next hearing of the case would be held on 4 October.
