ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has stopped a seven member delegation who intended to pay official visit to Russia on government expense.
A local news agency said by quoting his sources that a 7-member delegation led by Hina Rabbani Khar State Minister for Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs had to visit Russia. In this regard EAD sent a summary to Prime Minister for its approval. The group of official representatives had to depart for Russia at the end of this month to participate in a meeting and to enhance cooperation in trade and economic development sectors. However, now only Hina Rabbani and Finance Secretary would pay visit instead of the whole delegation.
However, PM Gilani has stopped the delegation and said that the current situation in country does not allow us to send such a large group on government expenditure as the whole country is facing huge flood devastation, therefore, right now there is no need to dispatch delegation for Russia.
