Intelligence agencies asked to probe reports on plot to kill CJ LHC

Federal government has sought a report from Intelligence agencies on press reports related to plot to assassinate the Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif.

Special Branch Punjab, leading provincial intelligence outfit had generated a horrific report about an alleged plot prepared by some top federal figures to assassinate the Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif.

According to Interior Ministry Spokesman, the federal government has asked DG ISI and DG IB to submit a complete report on the alleged plot to assassinate Chief Justice Lahore High Court Khawaja Muhammad Sharif

The agencies have been further directed to ascertain its authenticity and the original background and the source of this conspiracy/news.

It is also been directed to unearth if there was any conspiracy to create rift between government and judiciary, the spokesman said.

The agencies have also been asked to look into the aspect if such a ill move may not be a preamble to some other conspiracy to destabilize Pakistan by some hostile elements within or outside the country, the spokesman said.
