Islamabad: It has been learnt that most of the political personalities and federal ministers will celebrate Eid with flood-devastated masses instead of at their ancestral abodes.
President Asif Ali Zardari will observe Eid at Presidency Islamabad and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani will leave for Multan after saying prayers here, to join the flood affectees. The chief of Pakistan Muslim League ‘N’ Muhammad Nawaz Sharif will be with affectees at Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa on this occasion.
Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Kiani will be in Rawalpindi during Eid whereas Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, Chief Justice Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudry at Islamabad. The head of Awami Muslim League Sheikh Rasheed and Ejaz ul Haq will be at Rawalpindi, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi will be out of the country and the chief of Muslim League Functional Pir Pagaro will be at Pir Jo Goth Khairpur.
Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif will join the affectees at Muzaffargarh on Eid and Governor Punjab Salman Taseer will tour the flood run areas after saying Eid prayers at Lahore. Central Leaders of Muslim League ‘Q’ Chaudry Shujat and Pervaiz will be at Gujarat, Amir Jamat Islami Munnar Hassan will remain at Mansoorah Lahore, leader of Jamat ud Dawa Hafiz Muhammad Saeed at Lahore.
The head of Tehrik-e-Insaf Imran Khan and Dr Sher Afgan will celebrate Eid at Mianwali. Altaf Hussain, chief of MQM will be at London as usual on this occasion. Jamiat Ulema Islam chief at Dera Ismail Khan, Maulana Samiul Haq at Akora Khatak, senior vice president of PML-N Makhdoom Javed Hashmi at Multan.
On the other hand MNA rana Mahmood ul Hassan, provincial minister Auqaf Asanuddin Qureshi, provincial minister agriculture Ahmad Ali Awlakh and MNA jamshaid Dasti, , will also be with flood affectees on this occasion. Former president Farooq Laghari will be at Lahore, Sardar Zulfiqar Khosa and former CM Dost Muhammad Khosa at DG Khan with affectees.
Former PM Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali will be at Rojhan Jamali, Allama Tahirul Qadri at Lahore, CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Governor Ishratul Abad at Karachi, federal minister Makhdoom Amin Fahim at Halla Hyderabad, Speaker National Assembly Fahmida Mirza, provincial home minister Zulfiqar Mirza at Hyderabad, general secretary Iqbal Zafar Jagra at Peshawar, Raja Zafarul Haq, Chaudry Nisar at Rawalpindi, Asghar Khan at Abottabbad, Tahmina Daoltana Wahari, general secretary ban outfit sipah sahaba Khadam Hussain Dahloon Jahanian.
Whereas thousands of flood stricken people will celebrate Eid in relief camps in southern Punjab and other parts of the country, miles away from homes. More than seven hundred affectees will be in relief camp at Jahaniah.
