NA-184 fell vacant after PPP’s candidate Amir Yar Waran’s degree was declared fake.
According to details twelve candidates were vying for by-elections in NA-184. The real competition was between wife of Amir Yar Waran and candidate of PPP Khadija Waran and PML-N’s candidate Mian Najeebuddin Awaisi.
Out of 226 polling stations, 63 were declared sensitive and 31 highly sensitive where deployment of Rangers was undertaken.
It is pertinent to mention here that Amir Yar Waran had bagged 59277 votes in the general elections of 2008 as independent candidate while his opponent Najeebuddin Awaisi got 38407 votes. But Mian Amir Yar Waran was disqualified due to having fake degree.
Mian Amir Yar Waran’s wife had submitted her documents as independent candidate but later by bearing all the expanses of ballet papers the election commission had accepted to allot her electoral sign of arrow.
