Pak Navy continue rescue efforts round the clock in the flood affected areas

Pakistan Navy search and rescue teams involving helicopters, hovercrafts and boats continue rescue efforts round the clock in the flood affected areas of Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Sheranpur, Mirpur Batoro, Darro, Faqir Jo Goth and Thatta district.
During last 24 hours, 550 more people were rescued from various locations and 1350 persons were provided medical treatment.
Meanwhile, two rescue teams have been deployed at Thatta bridge to meet any eventuality. Rescue team at Keti Bandar is on the alert for evacuation of stranded people. Rescue team is also being deployed in Dadu district.
During last 24 hours, 500 people were evacuated from Sheranpur whereas 50 persons were rescued from Qambar Shahdadkot area. Medical teams operating in Sukkur, Khairpur and Surjani continue to provide medical treatment to people in need. Mobile medical teams also provided medical assistance to people at Mujahid Goth and Dad Sayal Goth in Khairpur area. Children below 12 were vaccinated against polio and hepatitis B. A convoy of five trucks carrying relief goods also reached the affected areas.
Relief camps established at Sukkur, Khairpur, Surjani Bund and Baghan are working round the clock. Capacity in relief camps at various locations in Jamshoro has been increased to 200 tents where gender-wise registration and accommodation is in progress. Dry ration and relief goods are being distributed in all relief camps. Filtration plant has been installed at Petaro Goth relief camp providing clean drinking water to camp inhabitants as well as to local populace. Another filtration plant of 100000 litres capacity is being dispatched for installation at Ali Abad relief camp.
During next 24 hours, search and rescue operations will continue in Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Sheranpur and Thatta district. Distribution of food and relief goods will also continue in the affected areas.
