Fake degree holders remain absent during EC hearing

Members of parliament holding fake degrees had refused to appear before the Election Commission (EC) to defend their position as all the members of parliament and provincial assemblies who were summoned by the EC remained absent during the process of hearing Monday.

EC had called 6 parliamentarians holding bogus degrees to provide them opportunity to defend themselves during the hearing Tuesday. These parliamentarians included Moulvi Agha Muhammad, Shafiq Gujar, Wasim Afzal Gondal, Syed Suleman Mohsin, Syed Javed Hussain Shah and Gulistan Khan Non of them appeared before the EC, however, representatives of Moulvi Agha Muhammad, Shafiq Gujar and Wasim Afzal Gondal appeared before the EC and informed the commission about the reasons which had led to absence of their respective members from the hearing.

During the course of hearing they took the plea the notices served by EC had not been received by them and they had come to know about the hearing only through media.

The focal person, Afzal Khan decided to issue again the notices to summon these members with regard to hearing by EC.
