The race of having fake degrees is continuing in the parliament as the figures has reached to 43 while HEC (Higher Education Commission) sources said that some 28 degrees of parliamentarians were found suspicious and invalid.
Sources in the HEC informed that no meeting of Vice Chancellors regarding fake degree was held on Wednesday as this would be held on Thursday (Today). They opined that the HEC directed all the concerned universities to complete the verification process of educational degrees of parliamentarians till July 27 and dispatched the report to the commission, adding action would be taken agents those institutions who would have not provide the data within deadline.
Spokesperson of HEC said that the numbers reached to 43 having fake degrees while 208 degrees declared valid and genuine while he refused to disclose the names of those parliamentarians. Sources said that some 34 degrees were dispatched back to the concerned universities and issued directions to the universities to complete the verification process at earliest. Some six degrees of parliamentarians are proved fake on Wednesday including MNA Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Ramesh Lal of PPP, MPA of Balochistan Assembly Bakhtiar Khan Domki, MPA of Punjab Assembly Khawaja Islam. Karachi Varsity confirmed some 14 degrees out of 16 on Wednesday.
