Srinagar is tense after the death of two young men in the last 24 hours. A youth, Fayaz Ahmed, was allegedly killed in clashes between protesters and security forces on Tuesday morning.
The trouble began when protesters, agitating against the disappearance on Monday of a Class 11 student, Muzaffar, clashed with security forces, throwing stones at them in a locality called Tengpora, reported NDTV.
Fayaz was allegedly killed in the clashes. Locals claim that he died in CRPF firing but the CRPF has denied this.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, is out visiting the troubled areas in the state. Only last week, after a spurt of violence in the Valley, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had called an emergency meet, where he said political steps were needed to bring Kashmir situation under control. The PM had also advised Omar to visit troubled spots.
