Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said that he is willing to resign if charges against him prove to be true adding that he has sent defamation notice worth of Rs 5 billions to a media outlet for publishing stories against him.
Addressing the session of National Assembly here on Wednesday, the Interior Minister said that he would resign if any charges against him were proven. “I had resigned from the chairmanship of my companies before I became a minister”, Malik remarked.
He said that he had a business before he came to politics and he earned thousands of dollars from it.
The Interior Minister urged that parliamentary committee should held investigations into the case of making money through illegal means. He said PPP does not believe in the politics of victimization.
Rehman Malik further said that he left the country after murder attack on him. He said that the conspiracies being hatched against him should be stopped otherwise he would give befitting reply. “It was he who played role to join Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif on one platform”, he remarked.
