1st phase of eunuchs’ registration completed

The first phase for the registration of Eunuchs in Upper Dir and Lower Dir areas in the light of Supreme Court’s directives has been completed.
In the first phase, registration of forty she-males in two districts has been completed, however it has also been decided to increase the registration jurisdiction till FATA. The provincial government directed the finance department to take steps for provision of jobs to eunuchs in the government departments in fiscal year 2010-11.
The apex court had directed all the provinces to carry out registration of eunuchs regarding the provision of jobs in state departments. The provincial government ordered Social Welfare Department to make the arrangements for registration.
It is pertinent to mention here that registration of eunuchs was completed in 20 districts of the province including Upper Dir, Lower Dir and Chitral. More than two thousands she-males were registered in 20 districts. The federal government has directed later to carry out the registration process in FATA as well.
