Karachi airport’s close circuit cameras have confirmed the arrest of Karachi-based businessman Saleem Shahzad, who was allegedly picked up by security agencies onboard an Air Blue flight at Karachi Airport on May 4.
Saleem Shahzad, a father of two, has been missing from Karachi airport when he was proceeding to Lahore.
The close circuit cameras footage was produced by Airport Security Force on Sunday before a Judicial Commission that is dealing with the missing person cases. The commission head Justice (retd) Nasira Iqbal along with family members of the missing businessman visited the Airport Security’s office for viewing the CCTV footages from home department.
The ASF officials first hesitated to produce the afterward camera footages before the commission but Justice (retd) Nasira Iqbal warned them of strict action, the footages was produced, sources said.
The footage showed the arrest of Saleem Shahzad by two unidentified persons from the plane along with some ASF personal.
Justice (retd) Nasira Iqbal directed the SSP Investigation Niaz Khoso to submit a report after verifying the identity of those persons arresting Saleem Shahzad from the airplane. The ASF officials were also directed to submit the copy of footages before the commission.
The mother of Saleem Shahzad alleged that personnel of law enforcement agencies are involved in unlawful arrest of her son.
A case vis-à-vis Sahazad’s “abduction” has already been registered at Airport Police Station.
