Various districts of Province held tests and interviews of various unemployed graduate and post-graduate candidates for official jobs, in accordance with the Balochistan Package.
For this first phase of tests and interviews in 28 districts of the Province, a total of 38000 applicants were registered for 5000 posts, while those in Dalbandin and Barkhan districts boycotted the tests, complaining of ‘non-local participation’.
The selection committees headed by deputy commissioners of the districts conducted tests and interviews for 7816 males and females for 547 posts in Quetta.
Despite strict governmental instructions regarding ban on mobile phones and memory cards in exam centres, the candidates openly flouted the orders and rampant and open use of both banned items was observed.
Many females openly used clear-cut and evident mobile conversation, seeking answers from their outside sources with rampant impunity. Media coverage teams were strongly and quite rudely dissuaded from entry and coverage, and were rudely rebuked when questioned about the fairness of these tests; a situation, clearly depicting the pathetic state of transparency of these tests.
Many female candidates, appearing in Girls Collage Quetta faced intense confusion and problems due to having their fathers’ names being listed wrongly.
