No external pressure will be tolerated to start an army operation in North Wazirstan: Heads of state

An important meeting regarding National security held between President Asif Ali Zardari, PM Yousaf Raza Gilani and COAS, Gen Pervez Kayani has unanimously agreed that any military operation in North Wazirstan would be carried out solely on the prerogative and discretion of Pakistan, while no external pressure would ever be tolerated.

Official sources have also informed that the TROIKA also decided that any timeframe and decision about currently stalled military operation would be taken solely by Pakistan government itself.

Among other important issues, matters relating to National Security, forthcoming visits of CIA chief and American Advisor for National Security, and forthcoming defense budget of FY-2010.

President Asif Ali Zardari and PM, Yousaf Raza Gilani delivered categorical assurances to COAS, for catering fully to defense needs of Pakistan Armed Forces.

President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Yousaf Raza Gilani also affirmed the full support and care of government for the kin of martyred Army personnel, assuring that they would never ever be deserted by government.

Sources also reported that COAS also took both executives into confidence over his recent meetings with high-ranking American authorities.

The meeting also expressed great satisfaction and praises for the recently concluded, largest ever, military exercises of Pakistan Army, Azm-e-Nou.
