Despite the clear orders given by Lahore High court to ban Facebook in the country, the cellular companies are still allowing their customers to open this blasphemous website from their cell phones.

The Ministry of Information Technology, in compliance with the orders of Lahore High Court, Lahore, on the Writ Petition No.10392/10, dated the 19th May, 2010 has issued a directive to Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) to block the ‘Face Book’ and all other internet links displaying sacrilegious caricatures of the Holy Prophet.

Though all the Internet Service Providers have blocked Facebook and now the internet users in Pakistan are unable to open this website from their computer but it seems that mobile companies have nothing to do with this order as the cellular users can still able to open Facebook from their cell phones.

When contacted PTA about this the representative told that they have received complaints and the mobile companies have also been directed to block the site immediately.

He said that the site will be blocked on mobile phone internet within few hours.

  1. Sir/ Madam
Its also working on the mobile phones which have wifi connectivity over them. I have mobile phone with mobile connectivity and no GPRS but still its working. Solve the problem as soon as possible. Its working on these sites. http://Www.m.facebook.com , touch.facebook.com (iphone users and touch screen phones) nd you can use it by adding a letter after http// and then facebook address. And its also accessible thru blackberry phones. Please convey this msg to concerned authorities

  2. duznt work on my blackberry, i guess they hve already worked on it , evn tho there are ways to access it , but we as Muslims should have a clear conscious of not using it so we give a straight forward message to all those culprits who try to snatch our peace away….we should rather be working on to create our own sites with more interesting perspective….i found several and have a strong belief that Pakistanis are not less thn anyone…..this site im about to mention has a very interesting approach which ive never seen before…. try this….. http://apni.mobi
