First National Convention of Women Parliamentarians to start on May 24

First National Convention of Women Parliamentarians will take place in Jinnah Convention Centre here May 24 and women parliamentarians from member countries of SAARC will also participate in the convention for the first time.
National Assembly Secretariat spokesman told Online President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani will address the inaugural and concluding sessions of this 3-day convention.
Women members of all the four provincial assemblies, AJK and Gilgit, Baltistan will attend the convention.
The convention is titled “Role of women parliamentarians in peace, security and reconciliation.
Convention will have 6 working sessions wherein the recommendations on improvement in coordination between woman parliamentarians, problems facing the women, their health, education and integration of rural women in national mainstream will be evolved.
Several federal ministers, chairman senate, speaker national assembly and speakers of provincial assemblies will address the convention.
