Govt not serious to bring Dr Aafia back: Dr Fauzia

Dr Aafia Siddiqui’s sister Dr Fauzia Siddiqui has said the government has no intention to bring back her sister neither it demanded the US government for the release of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.

Addressing a press conference in National Press Conference on Sunday, she said the government has taken no concrete step for handing over of Dr Aafia.

She said the US judiciary still could not prove her guilty even the US government has admitted that she has no links with any terrorist organization.

She said the US law has room regarding handing over of culprit to the concerned country but the government has never demanded for that adding that the lawyers provided by the government of Pakistan were not cooperating therefore they had to contact with the other lawyers.

She said Pakistan is a sovereign country and being the ally of the US government in war against terror it could demand for Dr Aafia Siddiqui but it seems the government is not interested in this issue.

She said spokesman of former dictator Pervez Musharraf has sent formal request of meeting but she refused because he was the key person in previous government regarding arrest of Dr Aafia Siddiqui.
