Khawaja Shahad takes oath of acting CJ of AJK Supreme Court

Justice Khawaja Shahad, senior judge of Supreme Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) on Tuesday took the oath of Chief Justice of Azad Kashmir after the resignations given by the former acting Chief Justice Manzoor-ul-Hassan Gilani and deposed Chief Justice Riaz Akhtar Chaudhry.

Justice Khawaja Shahad was administered oath of the office of CJ by President AJK Raja Zulqarnain Haider Khan in a ceremony held at Kashmir House.

Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, President Muslim Conference Sardar Atique Ahmed Khan, former Prime Minister AJK Sardar Yaqoob and other government officials and Ministers also attended the ceremony.

The acting CJ will start performing his duties in the office of CJ from today.
