Secretary Law Aqil Mirza resigns

Federal Secretary for Law and Justice, Justice (Retd.) Aqil Mirza has resigned from his post due to differences with the government and his bad health condition.
According to reliable sources in the Ministry of Law, Justice (Retd.) Aqil Mirza has mentioned in his resignation that he could not perform his duties due to bad health. Therefore he should be relieved from his post while he would get treatment in Lahore.
Sources said that the Federal Secretary had recorded his statement in the Supreme Court under the government’s pressure while he also had differences within the Law Ministry therefore he has to resign.
Talking to a private TV channel former Attorney General Anwar Mansoor said he was expecting that Federal Law Secretary could not perform his duties under the present circumstances because he is an honest person adding he was also sure that he had recorded his statement in the SC under pressure.
The former Attorney General further said that no one is above the law and every one should perform its duties as per the constitution. He said institutions cannot be strengthened until they perform their duties within their ambit
