FBI team reaches Islamabad to investigate about Faisal Shahzad

A 3-member team of US intelligence agency FBI has arrived Pakistan discreetly and has exchanged views with Pakistan intelligence authorities about Pakistani-American Faisal Shahzad held in New York Times Square bombing case.

Intelligence Sources told on Saturday that the team arrived clandestinely in Pakistan and obtained information from intelligence officials of a key intelligence agency about Faisal Shahzad links with Pakistani Taliban, training, his family members and associates.

This team will stay in Pakistan for a few days and return to Washington after completing the process of information sharing with reference to Faisal Shahzad.

Sources stated that Faisal Shahzad visited Pakistan for 13 times during the last seven years and he had met office bearer of a Jihadi outfit. He also met one Rehan in Karachi who is stated to be a member of an outlawed outfit and was in the custody of intelligence agency at present.

Faisal Shahzad used 17 different mobile Sims during his stay in Pakistan. FBI has also shared information with Pakistan intelligence authorities about the remittances sent from US to Pakistan through forex companies.

The top officials of interior ministry were ignorant about the arrival of FBI team in Pakistan. However foreign office had made it clear already Pakistan would extend cooperation to the US on the matter of Faisal Shahzad and secret visit of FBI team was part of this development.

Pakistan intelligence agencies told FBI team that no evidence was found about Faisal Shahzad training in Waziristan and nor he had any linkage with Pakistani Taliban. However certain information was being collected about his meetings with leaders of banned Jihadi outfits.
