Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kiyani on Thursday attended the 2nd phase of exercise Azm- e-Nau III being conducted by troops of Northern Command near Sialkot.
According to Spokesman of the Pakistan Army, COAS witnessed offensive maneuvers by mechanized forces and greatly appreciated the morale of the participating troops and professional standard displayed by field formation. COAS also visited CMH Kharian and visited exercise related activity.
COAS General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani spent a busy day and witnessed the ongoing military exercise Azm-e-Nau-III here on Thursday in Sialkot and Kharian respectively.
The Army Chief visited logistics installations, various formations and units participating in the exercise. He also had an aerial view of the mechanized movement.
Gen Kayani appreciated the high morale of the troops who were taking part in the exercise.
Sources told Online that COAS Gen Kayani while addressing Army Jawans and officers in a simple but dignified ceremony praised the standard of the military exercise. He appreciated the professional expertise and proficiencies of Army personnel, saying, “Our troops are capable of defending every inch of the country,” adding that the war games would help in enhancing operational and professional skills of the armed forces.
The ongoing exercise is the culmination of year-long training process in light of the directives of the COAS who had declared 2009-10 as ‘Year of Training’.
