The National Electric Power Company (NEPRA) has accorded approval to three power distribution companies to increase the power tariff in the range of 15 paisas to Re 1 per unit.
The hike in power tariff will be applicable on all the consumers including the life line. According to details, the NEPRA has announced power tariff increase for three distribution companies while tariff of Quetta Transmission Company has been reduced.
15 paisas and Rs. 1.35 per unit increase has been approved for Gujranwala Electric Power Company and Islamabad Electric Power Company (IESCO) respectively, while 5 paisas to Rs. 1.50 per unit has been approved for Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO). In the LESCO region, approval has been given to increase Re 1 per unit for agricultural consumers and 50 paisas per unit for the industrial consumers.
The Quetta electric power company has approved reduction in the power tariff from 10 paisas to 75 paisas per unit. The hike in electricity tariff will also be appliable on the life line consumers.
