Naval Chief confers awards on Pak Navy officers

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Noman Bashir on Wednesday conferred military awards on Pakistan Navy officers and men in an impressive investiture ceremony held at Bahria Auditorium.
According to Spokesman of Pakistan Navy, these awards were announced by the Government of Pakistan in recognition of meritorious service, acts of gallantry and exceptional devotion to duty of recipients in their respective fields.
The recipients of Sitara-e-Imtiaz (Military) are Rear Admiral S B Ahmed, Rear Admiral Wasim Akram, Commodore N Afzal Qureshi, Commodore Irfan-ul-Haq, Commodore H U R Qureshi, Commodore Ali Hassan, Commodore Ahmed Raza, Commodore Jawwad Hussain, Commodore Dr Nassar Ikram, Commodore Farrokh Ahmed, Commodore Ghulam Hasan, Commodore Jamil Akhtar, Commodore Muhammad Tahir, and Commodore Zafar Iqbal
Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Military) was awarded to Captain M K Iqbal Baig, Captain Muhammad Imran, Captain Nasrullah, Captain Riaz Ahmed, Captain Irfan Nazir Malik, Commander M Azha Anees, Commander Abul Samad, Commander Shahid Ahmed, Commander Nadir A Rehman, Commander Khalid Sammar, Commander Muhammad Ali, Commander Muhammad Haris, Commander M Junaid Anwar, Commander S Ahmed Khan, Commander Salman Ali, Lt Cdr Zahid Sultan, Lt Cdr Armaghan Ahmed, Lt Cdr Faisal Zafar, Lt Cdr Fayhan Muhammad and Lt Cdr Zulfiqar Ahmed. Tariq Mehmood MCPO/MUS has been awarded Tamgha-e-Imtiaz (Civil).
Tamgha-e-Basalat were awarded to Commander Qaiser Aziz, Lt Cdr Ijaz Ahmed and M Younus CMEA.
In addition to these awards, 03 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-I, 09 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-II and 17 Tamgha-e-Khidmat (Military)-III were also awarded. Chief of the Naval Staff Letters of Commendation were presented to 40 Officers and men for their excellent performances in their respective trades. Z I Awan CWEA (CEW) was declared the best sailor of the year 2009 whereas K Masood stenographer and Zafar Adil LM were proclaimed the best civilian employees of the year 2009.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of senior serving and retired officers of the Armed Forces and families of the award winners.
