No one to be allowed to play with the issue of renaming of NWFP: Nawaz Sharif

PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif has warned that no one will be allowed to play with the life of innocent people by politicizing the issue of renaming of NWFP.

Mian Nawaz Sharif said this in a meeting held here Tuesday under his chairmanship in Punjab house. The participants exchanged views on the matters related to situation arising out of renaming NWFP as Pakhtoonkhwa in Hazara , killing of workers in police violence in Abbottabad, deteriorating law and order situation and others matters of national importance.

The meeting was attended by Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Senator Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Sardar Mehtab Khan Abbasi and other party leaders hailing from Hazara.

Sources told Mian Nawaz Sharif while condemning the loss of precious lives during the incidents in Abbottabad urged NWFP government not to leave family members of martyrs alone in the prevailing situation and make public the factual situation.

He stressed PPP, ANP and other parties would have to play their respective role to remove the reservations of people of Hazara and normalize the situation arising out of the issue of renaming of the province.

“I had repeatedly said that matter of renaming of the province be not linked to 18th amendment and I had expressed my concern in this connection on March, 25”, he remarked.

It was also decided in the meeting that PML-N would take prompt actions to normalize the situation in Hazara particularly Abbottabad and would talk to government to address the concerns of people in this respect.

Nawaz Sharif had to face severe criticism from the members of parliament from Hazara and party leadership of Hazara division for showing willingness on renaming NWFP as Pakhtoonkhwa. These party office bearers were of the view PML-N was suffering heavily during these demonstrations and it would become difficult for the party to win any seat from Hazara belt.
