Federal Minister for Water and Power Raja Pervez Ashraf has assured that the government is working on emergency basis to end energy crisis and within eleven months electricity situation would improve in the country.
Talking to the media persons after his visit to the National Power Control center of WAPDA Raja Pervez Ashraf said that currently country is facing severe energy crises and politics over this issue is not right.
He apologized for current energy crises in the country saying that unannounced lodshedding would be controlled.
Owing to emergency situation vocations of PEPCO and WAPDA officials and their foreign visits have been cancelled, he added.
He requested from masses to tolerate the situation and told that a Crises Management Cell has been established in the ministry regarding energy crises.
Talking about the Rental powers plants he said that these plants have been installed in Saudi Arab, Sri Lanka, India and different other countries. Electricity would be generated from all the Rental Power houses in the country.
He said that under the directions of Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, a three members committee has been constituted over energy crises in which Federal Minister for Petroleum and Finance coordinating with World Bank, Asian Development to combat the crises.
Talking about the electricity theft cases Raja Pervez Ashraf said that in case of any complaint the concern SDO would be dismissed.
He said that government is providing energy to industries on emergency basis and owing to less rains three thousand megawatt extra electricity is being used to get water via tube wells for agricultural purposes.
He further told that except of sixty four thousand megawatt, sixteen hundred megawatt electricity is being generated from Hydel projects while demand of electricity is fifteen thousand megawatt.
He said that he is monitoring the energy crises and has transferred four Chief Executive officers for showing negligence.
