NAB refuses to hand over record of Swiss Cases to Law Ministry

National Accountability Bureau has declined to accede to the demand of Federal Ministry for Law and Justice to hand over the record of Swiss cases.

Law Ministry sources told Online that on the directives of Law Minister Babar Awan NAB has been asked to hand over the sealed 12 cartons containing record of the Swiss cases to the Ministry of law and justice. Since NAB is a subordinate dept of the law ministry therefore such sensitive documents should be under the control of the ministry but NAB has declined to do so.

In this regard when NAB spokesman Ghazni Khan was contacted he told Online that he would not comment on the demand of the law ministry but the 12 cartons containing records of the Swiss cases are completely safe and sound at the NAB and are under the control of NAB chairman Naveed Ahsan.

He said that NAB has the record in its custody on the orders of the Supreme Court.

It must be mentioned that a few days earlier a two member team of NAB officers had gone to London to get the Swiss Cases records from the Pakistan High Commission in London and the record was brought back through diplomatic bag.
