Excercise to land Pakistani Fighter Jets on Motorway successful

PAF fighter aircraft, Miraj, lands on motorway, near Sheikhupura, during Exercise Â’High Mark-2010

Pakistan Air Force (PAF) on Friday successfully validated its concept of fighter operations from the motorways and highways when its two fighter aircraft F-7 and Miraj landed at a point on motorway.

The historic landmark was achieved as part of the ongoing High Mark-2010 exercise.

After landing, these aircraft were refueled, rearmed and re-launched for air operation.

The ceremony was attended by Federal Minister for communication Arbab Alamgeer Khan, Air vice Marshall Sohail Aman, Inspector General Motorway Police and other officials.

  1. This is the second time the PAF has done this. It did this earlier in 2004. So it is incorrect to say that this was the “first time in its history”.
