ADG FIA arrested on court orders

Additional Director General of FIA Ahmed Riaz Sheikh arrested from courtroom on the orders of the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The Supreme Court earlier maintained the verdict of Lahore High Court in a corruption case against Ahmed Riaz Sheikh, Additional Director General of FIA.

Lahore High Court had handed five years jail term and Rs 20 million fine under corruption charges.

The Supreme Court in its decision also ordered NAB to confiscate the property of Ahmed Riaz Shaikh and submit report to the court within three days.

FIA had recently removed Ahmed Riaz Shaikh from the office of Additional Director General (Economic Crime Wing).

Supreme Court had recently objected over illegal restoration of Ahmed Riaz Shaikh and his promotion.
