Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that they had held successful dialogue with US, adding that US had assured to review the decision of body screening of Pakistanis.
Talking to media at Lahore Airport on his return from USA here on Sunday after attending strategic dialogue, the Foreign Minister said that progress on drones would become visible soon. He said that US had sought no favor in return for supporting Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister said that US had come to know that the Pakistan’s military and politicians were on the same page. He said that they had presented Pakistan’s point of view in US Congress, adding that they had visited US after completing their homework.
He said that political and military leadership had presented Pakistan’s stance effectively. He said that strategic dialogue was different from the past talks. The Foreign Minister said that US has hinted at providing multi layered security system to Pakistan.
He said that they made progress on every issue more than expectations. In response to a question regarding civil nuclear technology’s agreement, the Foreign Minister said that some time it was better to insist for something for the sake of nation’s interests.
He said that they had invited the US officials to visit Islamabad and the US delegation would be visiting Pakistan from April 1st. He said that they held meeting with US in cordial atmosphere while it helped to understand both the stake holder’s point of view betterly.
He said that energy was important need of the country while they made important development in this regard. He said that sometimes the democratic government had to take some infamous decisions for the national interests.
