18th amendment to be approved soon: Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said that the 18th amendment would be approved soon by the Parliament and they would ensure reinstatement of 1973’s constitution in its original shape.

Addressing the public gathering here on Saturday the Prime Minister said that the PPP led government would overcome and solve the water and electricity shortage through better planning. He said that economic stability was possible only through political stability.

The premier said that they would solve the issues of power shortage and inflation on priority basis. He said that democracy and stability were the most important factors of the country. He said that PPP led government wanted economic stability and it would provide job opportunities and bring prosperity in the country.

He said that PPP has completed two years of its government with the grace of Allah and rest of three years would be spent in serving and solving people’s problems. He assured that PPP was following the philosophy of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto which would ensure the empowerment of masses.

He said that PPP led government would bring revolutionary changes in the country. He said that power could run industry and industry would provide jobs to the people therefore it was necessary to solve the issue of power shortage.

He said that they had sacrificed a lot for democracy adding that they had fulfill their promise to restore contract and politically victimized employees. The Prime Minister announced the supply of gas to Gujranwala and construction of T-Bridge in the city. He said that Rachna University was already under construction in Gujranwala
