First female governor of Gilgit- Baltistan Dr Shama Khalid took oath of her office in the President House here on Tuesday.

According to details, a ceremony was held in the President House where President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Gilani, members of federal cabinet, representatives of armed forces senior government officials, central members of Pakistan People’s Party, Chief minister Gilgit Baltistan Mehdi Shah and others were present.

Chief Judge of Gilgit Baltistan took oath from Dr Shama Khalid.It is pertinent to mention here that Dr Shama Khalid is first female governor of Gilgit Baltistan who has been appointed at this post. Dr Shama Khalid belongs to Astor and is a famous social personality.
